What Is JAMB Change of Institution?
After sitting the UTME and seeing your score, you may decide that your original institution choice is no longer realistic — or you may want to move to a more suitable university. JAMB allows candidates to change their institution (and course) during a specific correction window each year.

JAMB opens the Change of Institution window for a limited period each year — usually after results are released and before institutions begin their Post-UTME processes. The exact dates are announced on the JAMB portal each admission cycle.
Check the JAMB portal or JambAdvisor for the current year's change window dates.
Reasons to Consider Changing Institution
- Your JAMB score is below your original institution's cutoff.
- A different university offers better prospects for your course.
- You want to move from a private to a federal university (or vice versa).
