In Nigerian higher institutions, cut-off marks operate on two distinct levels during the annual admission screening exercise:
1. General Institutional Cut-OffSet by JAMB and individual university senate bodies (e.g. 200 for UNILAG or OAU; 180 for DELSU). This is the minimum UTME score required to purchase a university's Post-UTME screening form.
2. Departmental Composite Cut-OffSet after Post-UTME screening results are compiled. It reflects the final aggregate score of the last admitted candidate in a specific program, calculated from UTME + Post-UTME + O'Level sittings.
